Greines, Martin, Stein & Richland is proud to congratulate our partner and friend, Kent Richland, on his induction into the Appellate Lawyer Hall of Fame by the California Lawyers Association.

Throughout his distinguished career, Kent has been one of the nation’s leading appellate advocates.  Since co-founding GMSR in 1983, he has argued hundreds of appeals, including many significant cases before the United States Supreme Court and the California Supreme Court.  He has also dedicated countless hours to advancing the appellate profession as a teacher, author, mentor, and leader of multiple well-known professional organizations.

Those of us fortunate enough to work alongside Kent every day have long known what this honor confirms:  He is one of the great appellate lawyers of his generation.  But what makes Kent truly special is that his extraordinary intellect and advocacy are matched by his generosity, kindness, and genuine interest in the people around him.  We are proud to call him our partner, grateful for his mentorship and friendship, and delighted to celebrate this well-deserved honor.
