Attorney Opportunities

GMSR is one of California’s premier appellate law practices. Our lawyers tackle cutting-edge legal issues in a wide array of substantive areas, shaping the law that will govern future cases. Associates are an integral part of our team. They begin formulating issues and drafting briefs as soon as they join the firm, and generally have early opportunities to present oral arguments.

We welcome applications from attorneys with a demonstrated interest in civil appellate practice and excellent analytical and writing skills. Successful candidates generally graduated near the top of their law school class; participated in law review or moot court; and have experience as litigators, appellate law clerks, or both.

Law Clerk Opportunities

GMSR takes great pride in the accuracy of its work. The firm hires law clerks, generally law students or recent graduates, to cite-check and proofread all of its work product before filing. This work is an indispensable part of maintaining the firm’s high reputation with the courts. Law clerks also assist attorneys with research projects.

Working as a law clerk at GMSR allows law students to improve their own research and writing skills while being exposed to a wide variety of civil practice areas and developing connections with the firms’ attorneys.

Because GMSR strives for 100% accuracy in its court filings, law clerks must be detail-oriented, display exceptional analytic skills, and take pride in their work. Applicants should have not only excellent academic credentials, but also law review or moot court experience.
