GMSR secured a win for its client, the City of Berkeley, when the Court of Appeal affirmed the trial court’s summary judgment in a case arising from a plaintiff’s custody and evaluation under Welfare and Institutions Code section 5150.
The court held that the City and its officers were protected by statutory immunity under Government Code section 856, and that the record did not support the plaintiff’s claims. The judgment in favor of the City was affirmed.
