Hanouchian v. Steele (2020) 51 Cal.App.5th 99

GMSR successfully defended a judgment in favor of its clients, members of a university sorority, in a negligence case arising from a third-party assault at an off-campus party.  The plaintiff argued the students had a duty to follow campus risk-management protocols to prevent the attack.  The Court of Appeal rejected that theory, holding the students owed no such legal duty and affirming the trial court’s dismissal in full.
