Mitchell Garmany began his legal career at GMSR as an Appellate Fellow. As a fellow, Mitchell helps GMSR attorneys draft briefs and motions, conducts legal research, cite-checks and proofreads briefs, and helps the firm’s attorneys prepare for oral argument.
Mitchell earned his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 2025. During law school, Mitchell was the Senior Executive Editor of Ecology Law Quarterly, a regional semi-finalist in the 2024 National Appellate Advocacy Competition, and coached for two moot court teams. In the summer and fall of 2024, Mitchell interned at the California Department of Justice in the Appeals, Writs and Trials section, and in October 2024, he successfully argued a case before the California Court of Appeal.
In his free time, Mitchell enjoys writing music, reading political philosophy, and playing board games with his wife and family.
