Meister v. Regents of University of California (1998) 67 Cal.App.4th 437

The Court of Appeal affirmed the reduction of attorneys’ fees in an action under the Information Practices Act, holding it was not arbitrary to deny plaintiff fees incurred after an informal settlement offer that would have provided plaintiff with all the relief he ultimately achieved, and that the fee request was unreasonably excessive in light of the plaintiff’s eventual judgment.
